Description

This Windows Driver is for use with the Promise Ultra 100 TX2 controller card.

Instructions

  1. Download the UltraTX2driver.zip file.
  2. Extract the files within to a folder on your C: drive or onto a floppy diskette.
  3. The following instructions are for the XP operating system. Additional instructions can be found under document 403 in the Knowledge Base.
  4. From the Windows XP Desktop, right-click on My Computer and then select Properties. If you are not in Windows XP Classic mode, right-click on the My Computer icon located in the Start Menu
  5. Click on the Hardware tab and then click on Device Manager.
  6. Double-click on SCSI and RAID Controllers, then on "Promise Technology Inc, Ultra IDE Controller and finally on the Driver tab.
  7. Click on the Update Driver button
  8. The Update Driver Wizard starts.
  9. Click the radio button that says Install from list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next.
  10. On the next screen, click the radio button labeled Don't search. I will choose the driver to install., then click Next.
  11. Click on Have Disk and then insert the floppy disk with the Ultra100 drivers.
  12. Click Browse, then click the WinXP directory, and finally, click Open.
  13. Click the ULTRA.INF file and then OK.
  14. Select WinXP Promise Ultra 100 TX2 IDE Controller and then click Next.
  15. Click Continue Installation at the Hardware Installation dialog box.
  16. Click Finish and then click Close from the Promise Technology Inc, Ultra IDE Controller properties box.
  17. Click on YES to restart the computer when prompted.
