A My Cloud storage device comes with a built-in diagnostics tool that assists users in evaluating its performance in the case that some performance issues are being experienced.
To perform a Quick or Full test on the unit, please follow the instructions below:

My Cloud
- From the main page of the My Cloud Dashboard, click the Settings button of the Navigation bar. For assistance accessing the Dashboard, please see Answer ID 27432: How to Access the Dashboard on a My Cloud Device.
- Once inside the Settings area, click on Utilities on the left-side panel.
- In the Utilities area, the first option will be the System Diagnostics. This section includes both the Quick Test and the Full Test.
- Selecting either method of the diagnostics will start the testing process and a Test in process progress bar will be displayed. The target of the diagnostics as well as the time it takes will depend on the type of test that is selected:
- Quick Test: A quick test will take a few minutes, normally around 2, and will test the drive for major performance issues.
- Full Test: A full test will thoroughly test each and every sector on the drive to ensure that the unit is in peak state. This test may take several hours to complete, depending on the size and data configuration of the drive.
- Once a test completes, a pop-up window will display with a report of the diagnostics for the drive.
My Cloud Mirror

Faulty Drive

Check Warranty Replacement Status and submit an online Warranty Replacement if still under warranty. Single Bay My Cloud drives are not field servicable. - My Cloud (Multi Bay)

If the My Cloud is Out Of Warranty and data recovery is needed, contact a WD Data Recovery Partner - Do not attempt to utilize a failing hard drive for data storage
