My Cloud storage devices have firmware which can be updated through the Dashboard. For instructions on how to update the firmware, please select the method to be used from the table below.

Updating the firmware on a My Cloud
- Click the Settings button of the Navigation bar. For assistance accessing the Dashboard, please see Answer ID 27432: How to Access the My Cloud OS 3 Dashboard.
- On the Settings area's left-side panel, click on Firmware.
Once in the Firmware area, there will be two update methods:
Automatic Update for My Cloud
- Under Available Updates, the My Cloud will automatically detect if a new version is available. If there is a new version available, click on Update Now.
- Read the message that appears and click the Install and Reboot button.
- The firmware will begin downloading and then it will upgrade the My Cloud. This may take several minutes.
Critical:
Do not unplug your device during the firmware update installation. After completing the update, your network drive will reboot automatically.
- When the firmware update is complete, the My Cloud will reboot.
- When the My Cloud is done rebooting, the firmware version will change.
Manual Update for My Cloud
Before going through the steps below, download the My Cloud firmware and save it on an easy to access location within the computer.

- Under Manual Update, click on Update from File.
- The Choose File to Upload window will open up. Navigate to the location that contains the .deb firmware file that was previously downloaded. Once the file is selected, click on Open.
- Read the message that appears and click the Install and Reboot button.
- The firmware will begin to upgrade itself. This may take several minutes.
Critical:
Do not unplug your device during the firmware update installation. After completing the update, your network drive will reboot automatically. - When the firmware update is complete, the My Cloud will reboot.
- When the My Cloud is done rebooting, the firmware version will change.

- From the main page of the My Cloud Mirror Dashboard, click the Settings button of the Navigation bar. For assistance accessing the Dashboard, please see Answer ID 27432: How to Access the My Cloud OS 3 Dashboard.
- On the Settings area's left-side panel, click on Firmware Update.
