- Western Digital Technical Support does not provide setup, configuration or troubleshooting of 3rd party apps outside of the download, installation and successful launch of the app from the My Cloud dashboard.

The WD My Cloud Mirror and Network Attached Storage devices have the capability of installing Apps onto themselves. One such App is a torrent download client called Transmission. In order to use this feature, ensure that the device is using the latest version of the firmware. Once the latest firmware has been installed, please follow the instructions below to install and use the Transmission client:
Installing the Transmission App
- From the Dashboard, click the Apps button of the Navigation bar. For assistance accessing the Dashboard, please see Answer ID 27432: How to Access the Dashboard on a My Cloud Device.
- Under the left-side panel, click the Add App icon.
- From the list of available Apps for the unit, scroll down and select Transmission by checking the check-box to the left of it, then click on Install.
- Transmission will download and install. This process may take a few seconds.
- Now Transmission is installed on the Personal Cloud or Network Attached Storage drive. Click on Configure to start the application.
Loading a Torrent on Transmission
- Once inside the app's interface, click on Open Torrent.
- The Upload Torrent Files window will appear. To select a torrent, click on Browse....
- Navigate to the location that has the desired torrent file, select it, and click on Open.
- Once the file is selected, click on Upload to start downloading the file.
- All downloads will be displayed on the main screen.
Understanding Torrent Status
Once the torrents are loaded, information on the torrent file can be seen in different pieces. Below is a summary of what each piece of information means, and how it affects the torrent.
- Size: This shows portion of the file that has already been downloaded, as well as the total size of the file(s) inside the torrent.
- %: This indicates how much of the file(s) has been downloaded.
- Download Speed: This shows how much bandwidth is being used to download pieces of the torrent.
- Upload Speed: This shows how much bandwidth is being used to upload pieces of the torrent.
- Status: This shows the current process that the file is going through at the time.
- Time Remaining: This shows the approximate time in which the file will become available.
