Description
Time Machine backups take longer than expected.
Resolution
- Make sure the NAS is plugged into a Gigabit Ethernet router.
- Connect the computer to and Ethernet port on the router.
- Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Turn Off the 2.4 GHz network to prevent backup failures due to signal switching.
- Keep the computer near the router.
- Start the first backup in the evening and let it run overnight.
- Turn off all other apps while during the first Time Machine backup.
