Memory Upgrade for My Cloud PR4100

The memory of a My Cloud PR4100 can be upgraded to 16 GB of memory total.
Please refer to the My Cloud PR4100 User Manual for memory module replacement instructions.

Critical: Please read the Warranty Policy before attempting to upgrade the memory modules on the My Cloud PR4100.

The Memory Configuration of a My Cloud PR4100 is as follows:

• 4GB RAM - 2GB+2GB DDR3L
• Upgradable to 16GB
• Two rank SO-DIMM slots

The following memory modules are approved for upgrading the memory of a My Cloud PR4100:

This procedure is applicable for the My Cloud PR4100 only. The My Cloud device must be powered off prior to module replacement. WD recommends using an anti-static wristband to prevent static damage to the unit.

What you’ll Need:

• Phillips screwdriver
• Replacement SO-DIMM Memory module

Replacing a SO-DIMM Memory Module

1. Before getting started, shut down the My Cloud device and disconnect all external connections.
2. Place the unit on a clean and stable surface, with the back of the unit facing you.
3. Release three (3) screws on the back of the unit.



4. Pull the unit cover toward you and up to release the cover.
5. Remove and replace the SO-DIMM memory module.

This device uses memory modules in coordinated pairs.



6. Once the pair of SO-DIMM memory modules have been changed, replace the unit cover and replace and tighten the three (3) exterior screws.

When replacing the cover back to the unit, be careful not to touch or damage the components on the PCBA. Do not over-tighten the PCBA screws.

7. Connect all external connections.
8. Restart the device.
