The WD My Passport Wireless Pro is working as intended. Files copied through USB, SSD, mobile apps, or during an automatic backup are not transcoded when My Passport Wireless Pro is running on battery power. Transcoding data depletes the battery when it is not connected directly to a power source.

Resolution

Connecting the My Passport Wireless Pro to a power source will cause the thumbnail creation process to resume.
