Description
My Passport Wireless Pro is not being detected when connected to a Windows PC.
This occurs when the drive is not properly disconnected. Disconnecting the My Passport Wireless Pro without safely ejecting the drive will result in the drive not being detected by the Windows PC. If unable to safely eject a My Passport Wireless Pro, please see Answer ID 16330: Problem Ejecting an External Drive on Windows.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:
- Connect the My Passport Wireless Pro to a Windows PC and wait for the PC to display a message:
Do you want to scan and fix the My Passport Wireless Pro? - Select Scan and fix (recommended).
- Windows will scan the drive. This will take a few minutes.
When checking exFAT formatted USB drive, please refer to Answer ID 13899 Windows Error Checking utility does not show a progress bar when scanning and fixing exFAT formatted USB drives - After the scanning process is completed, the My Passport Wireless Pro will successfully mount on the Windows PC.
