Description
When attempting to activate WD SmartWare using version 2.4.4 or earlier, activation fails with the error There was an error trying to activate your activation code. Please try again later.
Older versions of WD SmartWare used older types of encryption to establish a connection. The activation servers no longer accept this type of traffic.
Resolution
