Description

While connected to a public Hot Spot, the mobile app is unable to connect to a My Passport Wireless Pro.
This occurs because public Hot Spot setup using Captive Portal is not supported by the mobile app. The mobile app does not have a way to pass through the HTTP redirection requests from the public Hot Spots in order to validate the connection.

Resolution

Connect the mobile device to the public Hot Spot and finish the Sign-in Authorization prior to using the mobile app. After the mobile device has completed the authentication process for the public Hot Spot, connection through the mobile app will be available.

Do not connect the My Passport Wireless Pro to a public Hot Spot during the initial out-of-the-box setup.
