My Passport Wireless mobile app for iOS and Android is now in the Limited Updates phase. During this phase, bug fixes, updates for new features, and OS compatibility patches may stop, but Western Digital will continue to provide security updates for the app to address critical issues.

Description


Plex does not start after updating Plex, firmware update, or installing Plex for the first time.
The Plex Media Server process may not have started correctly.

Resolution


  1. Log in to the My Cloud or My Passport Wireless Pro Dashboard

  2. Navigate to the Plex Configuration screen option
    • For the My Passport Wireless Pro - Select the Media Tab
    • For the My Cloud - Select the "Apps" tab and select Plex Media Server

  3. Turn OFF Plex

  4. Reboot, Hibernate, or Power Off the device from the dashboard

  5. Power ON the device (not required if rebooted)

  6. Log in to the My Cloud or My Passport Wireless Pro dashboard

  7. Navigate to the Plex Configure option and turn ON Plex

  8. If the above solution does not resolve the issue, a reset of Plex may be required.
