Description
My Book 6TB and 8TB drive models are not detected by WD SmartWare.
The following 6TB and 8TB models with an 8 digit serial number do not support the WD Unlocker VCD which is required by WD Smartware.
- WDBFJKxxxxHBK-NA
- WDBYCCxxxxHBK-NA
The -NA is the indicator that there is no VCD. This -NA is listed on the drive label and the package label.
Resolution
WD Backup or Acronis True Image WD Edition Software can be used instead of WD SmartWare.
