IMPORTANT:
WD Discovery cannot be running when capturing the software logs
Please make sure show hidden files and folder is enabled. For more information please refer to the Microsoft Article 14201
Windows WD Discovery Software Logs
- Launch WD Discovery and go to the Navigation menu (click the gear icon)
- Click Quit in the bottom right hand corner of the app screen
- Press Control+Alt+Delete to access the Task Manager
- End the WDDiscoveryMonitor.exe process if it is still running

How to Zip the WD Discovery log files from Windows and contact WD Support
- Identify the WD software folder
- Go to the Desktop
- Right click on the Desktop background
- Click New choose Folder
- Name the file WD software logs
- Copy the WD Software folder to the Desktop
- Right click on the WD software Folder, and choose Send to, click Compress (Zipped) Folder
- Contact Us to submit the logs

macOS Discovery Software Logs
- Launch WD Discovery and go to the navigation menu (three horizontal bars next to the bullhorn)
- Click Quit in the bottom right hand corner of the app screen
- From the Apple Menu, click on Go and Computer
- Go to Mac's Internal drive
- Go to Users
- Go to Mac's User
- Press and hold the shift, command, and period keys to view hidden files and folders
- Locate the .wdc (hidden) folder
- To left click, use Control + click, and choose Compress
- Wait for the folder to be compressed
- Contact Us to submit the logs
