My Passport Wireless mobile app for iOS and Android is now in the Limited Updates phase. During this phase, bug fixes, updates for new features, and OS compatibility patches may stop, but Western Digital will continue to provide security updates for the app to address critical issues.

Description


My Passport Wireless Pro cannot reconnect to a known WiFi network after the intial configuration if the unit has been rebooted or powered off and on again.


Reconnection to the same WiFi host will fail if the WiFi password ( passphrase) contains a special character.


Resolution


My Passport Wireless Pro supports passwords that contain alphanumerical characters.
Special characters in the WiFi host password ( passphrase) is not supported.


Supported WiFi Password Information
  1. WiFi host password must contain alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z, and 0-9)
  2. The password length must be between 8 and 63 characters
  3. Special characters (*, &, %, ect. ) are not supported
