The Anti-Virus Essentials 3rd party app process can hang when there are more than one active scans occurring.
Multiple scan processes can occur under the following conditions:
- Schedule Scan is configured with Recurrence
- Schedule Scan is configured without Recurrence and more than one jobs have been started
The My Cloud may not have enough resources available to process more than one Anti-Virus Essential scan jobs in parallel.
Resolution
Use the suggestions below to ensure the scan process has enough system resources to complete.
- Highly Suggested: Modify Scheduled Scans and disable the Recurrence feature
- Highly Suggested: Refrain from starting more than one Anti-Virus Essentials scan at a time
Ensure the first job completes before starting another - Suggested: Turn off high resource utilization apps such as Plex and Milestone Arcus
- Suggested: Turn off Twonky DLNA Media Server and iTunes Server
