My Cloud: Public Share Message "User Name or Password is Incorrect"



Description


Attempting to access a My Cloud share using Windows Explorer fails with "The user name or password is incorrect" when the username on My Cloud is the same as the Windows user name.

Windows user name supports the use of UPPER and lowercase characters such as MyCloudUser.

The My Cloud user name is forced to use lowercase charactors such as myclouduser.

The user name of MyCloudUser on Windows login is not the same as the myclouduser user name on a My Cloud causing the login failure message.


Resolution


Use the correct My Cloud user name when accessing My Cloud shares.
