How to Manage Storage on My Cloud Home Duo


My Cloud Home Duo supports RAID1 and Max Capacity JBOD with a single large Data Volume.

Mirror (RAID 1) 1   Yes (Default Configuration)


IMPORTANT:
Changing from RAID1 to JBOD or JBOD to RAID1 is Data Destructive.
This process cannot be undone and requires an Internet connection.

A change in Storage Modes will:

  • Delete the Device Owner.
  • Delete ALL Invited Users.
  • Delete ALL content.
  • Delete ALL Services.
  • Inform the My Cloud Home servers that a System Erase has been done.
  • Send an email to the Device Owner informing of the System Erase action.
  • Take up to 20 minutes, depending on content size and type.

The device must be setup again at MyCloud.com/hello after a storage mode change.

Use these steps to change the storage modes on Mobile and Web Apps.

Mobile

  1. Open the Mobile App.

  2. Tap the 3-line menu found at the upper left of the screen.

  3. Tap Settings.

  4. Click the My Cloud Home Duo.

  5. A Connecting... message may show.
    Click OKAY.
    click the My Cloud Duo.


  6. Tap Device Configuration.

  7. Select RAID1 or JBOD.

  8. Tap Continue.

  9. Enter the System Erase Code.

  10. IMPORTANT:

    Check the network cable attached to the My Cloud Home and the Internet router if a System Erase code is not shown.

  11. Click ERASE ALL DATA.

The account will be logged out after clicking ERASE ALL DATA.


Web App

  1. Sign in to the Web App.

  2. Click the 3-line menu found at the upper left of the screen.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Click the My Cloud Home Duo.

  5. A Connecting... message may show.
    Click OKAY.
    click the My Cloud Duo.


  6. Select RAID1 or JBOD.

  7. Click CONTINUE.

  8. Enter the System Erase Code.

  9. IMPORTANT:

    Check the network cable attached to the My Cloud Home and the Internet router if a System Erase code is not shown.

  10. Click Confirm.

  11. Click ERASE ALL DATA.

The account will be logged out after clicking ERASE ALL DATA.
