My Cloud Home: Video Display HD Button

Web App and Mobile App HD Button

The My Cloud Home Web app and Mobile app contain a HD button to allow for changes in resolution during media playback.
Changing media playback to a lower resolution can be useful under the following network conditions:

  • My Cloud Home connected to a router and the router connected to the ISP provided cable modem/router in a Double NAT configuration (My Cloud Home in Proxy Relay Mode)
  • Network Router doesn't support UPnP and Port Forwarding is not possible (My Cloud Home in Proxy Relay Mode)
  • My Cloud Home connected to a Fast Ethernet 10/100 router instead of a Gigabit router 10/100/1000
  • Mobile device connected to the 2.4 GHz band of a WiFi router instead of the 5 GHz band
  • Long distance between the My Cloud Home and mobile device
  • ISP, Carrier or Remote Network throttling and or limiting network throughput and bandwidth
  • Spinning "blue circle" "buffering" conditions when playing content
  • Shaky playback due to various networking conditions
  • Poor or misaligned audio and/or video content during playback
