WD Discovery: Cannot be Uninstalled or Re-installed on macOS

Description

WD Discovery Cannot be Uninstalled or Reinstalled on a Mac

WD Discovery installation has become corrupted or a previous uninstall did not fully complete.

Resolution

Please perform the following steps to make a clean install:

1. Uninstall WD Discovery


2. Delete the following files/folders if present on the system:


• /Applications/WD Discovery
• /Library/Application Support/WD Discovery
• /Library/Application Support/WDDesktop
• /Library/LaunchAgents
  Remove everything that stats with "com.wdc"
• /Users/USER_NAME/.wdc
• /Users/USER_NAME/Library/Application Support/WD Discovery
• /Users/USER_NAME/Library/Containers/com.wdc.WDDesktop.WDDesktopFinderSync
• /Users/USER_NAME/Library/Containers/WDDiscoveryService.Main


3. Reboot the computer


4. Install the latest version of WD Discovery from Western Digital Software and Downloads
