Steps to Change a My Cloud Home Device Owner


Change Email Address (Web App)

 
  1. Open MyCloud.com.
    Click SIGN INTO MY CLOUD HOME.

  2. Click the 3-line Menu icon found on the upper left of the screen or open the browser window full screen.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Click CHANGE EMAIL.

  5. Enter the new email address next to New.
    Re-enter the email address next to Confirm.


  6. Click CHANGE EMAIL.

Demote Device Owner (Pin Reset)

The reset button on the rear can be used to demote and change ownership if there is at least one guest user already attached.

IMPORTANT:

This process CANNOT to be used to add users or change email addresses.

The 30 to 50 second reset will:

  • Demote the existing Device Owner to a Guest User.
  • Promote the next oldest Guest User as the new Device Owner.
  • NOT delete any data.
  • NOT delete the MyCloud.com account.
 
  1. Connect My Cloud Home to a router with an Internet connection.

  2. Make sure the LED is solid white and not blinking.

  3. Power on the My Cloud Home.

  4. Press and hold the Reset Button for 30 to 50 seconds.

  5. IMPORTANT:

    Pressing the reset button for longer than 50 seconds will result in the full System Erase of the My Cloud Home.
    This CANNOT be undone.



  6. Open MyCloud.com.
    Click SIGN INTO MY CLOUD HOME.
    Provide the username and password of the new Owner account.
