Description
My Passport Wireless Pro is not charging the connected mobile phone or tablet.
iPad and Connected Mobile Devices
Charging iPad and connected mobile devices consuming power higher than 1.5A are not supported by My Passport Wireless Pro.
The USB2.0 port on My Passport Wireless Pro offers the following output:
- In power ON mode with Wi-Fi: 5 Volts/max, 900 milliAmps
- In power OFF mode: 5 Volts /max, 1.5 Amps
- In Direct Attached Storage mode connected to a computer via USB3.0 port: No power output
iPhones
iPhone lightning cable requires wait time before reconnection.
Resolution
iPad and Connected Mobile Devices
- Make sure your mobile device consumes 1.5A or less
- If the mobile devices consumes more than 900mA, power off the My Passport Wireless Pro and reconnect your mobile device to the USB 2.0 port of the My Passport Wireless Pro.
- Power off the My Passport Wireless Pro
- Reconnect your mobile device to the USB2.0 port of the My Passport Wireless Pro
- Power on the My Passport Wireless pro
iPhones
Follow the steps below to properly charge iPhone connected to the My Passport Wireless Pro.
- Remove the USB lighting cable from the USB port of the My Passport Wireless Pro.
- Wait 10 or more seconds.
- Plug the USB end of the lightning cable (iPhone already attached) back to the USB Port of the My Passport Wireless Pro.
