My Passport Wireless mobile app for iOS and Android is now in the Limited Updates phase. During this phase, bug fixes, updates for new features, and OS compatibility patches may stop, but Western Digital will continue to provide security updates for the app to address critical issues.

Description
Install Update to a new firmware release using the Web Dashboard results in the following error message.
The error message occurs after system power on when the Automatic Firmware Update feature is enabled and the manual Install Update option is attempted.
Resolution
- Wait 10 to 15 minutes after powering up the device when the Automatic Firmware Update feature is enabled.
The wait period allows the firmware to download to the device in the background.
Slower internet connections may require more time. - Refresh the Web Browser page
- Once the dashboard displays A new version of Firmware is downloaded
- Click the Firmware Tab
- Click Install Update
