Universal Plug and Play ( UPnP ) allows networked items to see each other and is for home networks.
Refer to the user manual or the manufacturer for UPnP support.
Locate MAC Address
A MAC address is a unique identifier for network interfaces used to find the IP address through routers or ARP commands, ensuring no duplication among devices.
Locate the MAC address on the Product Label.
- Login to the network router.
- Locate the UPnP Table or Attached Devices.
- Locate the IP Address using the MAC Address listed in the router's table.
Windows - Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)
Check the MAC Address against the ARP table to locate the IP address.
- Type cmd in search bar and hit enter.
- Type arp -a at the command prompt and hit enter.
- Locate the MAC Address which will have the IP address on the same line.
macOS - Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)
Check the MAC Address against the ARP table to locate the IP address.
- Click the Spyglass Icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Type Terminal in the search bar and hit enter.
- Type arp -a at the command prompt and hit enter.
- Locate the MAC Address which will have the IP address on the same line.
