Product Dashboard: Access and Purpose


The Dashboard is a web browser based graphical user interface powered by an Apache Web Server used to configure, manage and monitor WD networked attached storage (NAS) devices. Dashboards in general are also commonly known as the Management Console or Control Center depending on the product and manufacturere.

Dashboards or Management Consoles allow administrators to execute some of the most common device features including, but not limited to:

  • Adding users
  • Creating a Storage Share
  • Changing RAID Modes
  • Installing and Configuring 3rd party software or applications and plugins
  • Enabling FTP, DLNA, iTunes or Media Servers
  • Setting Share and User Permissions
  • Installing or Updating Software or Firmware
  • Running hard drive diagnostic
  • Monitoring
