My Passport Wireless mobile app for iOS and Android is now in the Limited Updates phase. During this phase, bug fixes, updates for new features, and OS compatibility patches may stop, but Western Digital will continue to provide security updates for the app to address critical issues.

The following error message occurs on a My Passport Wireless, Pro or SSD.
Error Retrieving Information from the Content Database
The device may be experiencing high memory and cpu usage or the database may be corrupted.
Resolution
IMPORTANT:
Content scan and thumbnail generation can be a memory and CPU intensive process. Please follow the recommendations below to reduce memory, cpu consumption and data access during the content scan and thumbnail generation process.
- Ensure the device is plugged into the power outlet and charging or fully charged
- DO NOT leave the web browser open and accessing the dashboard
- DO NOT attempt to modify, edit, delete or add content to the My Passport Wireless device
Disable Media Serving
Follow the steps below to address the content database error message.
- Access the My Passport Wireless dashboard
- Disable Plex Media Server
- Disable Twonky DLNA Media Server
- Reboot the My Passport Wireless device
Rebuild Content Database
