My Cloud Home: Content Added using Network Mounted Drive Does Not Appear

Description

Content added to the My Cloud Home using the My Cloud Home Network Mounted drive on a Windows computer:

  • fail to appear on the My Cloud Home
  • is halted or aborted during data transfer
  • does not fail with an error message

Anti-Virus, Internet Security, Malware and End Point Protection software may prevent or halt the upload of content to the My Cloud Home.

The WD Discovery Desktop Mounted Drive is a Network Mount and not a mapped network share. 3rd party software products may see the content upload as large amounts of network traffic and suspect a network or DDsS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack and block the data transfer.

Resolution

Check the local computer's Anti Virus, Internet Security, Malware and or End Point Protection software to ensure WD Discovery and WD Software is allowed and not blocked. Temporarily disable native and 3rd party software and or firewalls for testing purposes.
For assistance, pleased contact the software vendor or refer to their technical user manual or disable the software to allow the installation to complete. Western Digital does not provide configuration or technical support for 3rd party software.

AVG Anti-Virus

AVG Anti-Virus can be put into "passive mode" to allow the installation of WD Discovery.
For assistance, please refer to AVG Support Article: How to use Passive Mode

G Data Software

G DATA Total Security software must be uninstalled from the Windows Computer.
