My Passport Wireless mobile app for iOS and Android is now in the Limited Updates phase. During this phase, bug fixes, updates for new features, and OS compatibility patches may stop, but Western Digital will continue to provide security updates for the app to address critical issues.

The following message occurs on the My Cloud Android mobile app when attempting to connect to a My Passport Wireless device.

User does not have permission (403)


The mobile device is not connected to the correct Access Point Name (APN) .


Resolution


Change the Access Point Name (APN) on the mobile device to the proper connection to access the My Passport Wireless device.


General Android Instructions

Follow the instructions below to change the Access Network Point of the Android mobile device.


  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.
  4. Tap More networks.
  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap Access Point Names
  7. Tap or Add the correct Access Point Name provided by your mobile carrier.
