Error 403 Forbidden When Accessing Dashboard on My Cloud



Description


This message shows when accessing the My Cloud Dashboard on the local network using the NetBIOS name or the IP address.


Forbidden
You don't have permission to acess / on this server.



The 403 Forbidden message can show because:

  • Ports 80 and 443 are blocked.
  • Router firewall is blocking.
  • My Cloud is installed on a restricted network.
  • Computer is not connected to the same router as the My Cloud.
  • Computer is connected through a VPN or on a different network.

Resolution


Local Area Network (LAN)

  1. Connect the computer to the same network as My Cloud.
  2. Disconnect or reconfigure the VPN network to allow access to the dashboard.
  3. Check the router to make sure packets are routing correctly and that traffic is not blocked for internal port 80 and 443.

Remote Dashboard is not supported on Single Bay My Clouds.
