How to Use a Raptor Serial ATA Hard Drive Power Connector


WD Raptor SATA drives have two power ports.
A SATA or the legacy ATA-4-pin power connector can be used.

The SATA power port may be covered if using the WD SecureConnect cable.
A legacy Molex power cable must be used to supply power to the drive.

IMPORTANT:

Do not connect both the SATA and the legacy ATA power cable to the drive at the same time.
This may result in damage to the drive.
